Pride Night Filled The Mews With Love, Joy & Sparkling Representation!

A special thanks to our incredible photographer for the wonderful pics: Griffin Hayter

Darling, if there was ever a night to show up exactly as you are, Pride Night was IT!

On Friday, August 14, Front Street Mews filled with music, dancing, fabulous performances, local food, and plenty of Pride as our community came together for the fifth Fridays On Front celebration of the season.

And the timing couldn't have been better. Pride Night gave downtown New Westminster the perfect Friday evening warm-up before the New West Pride Festival brought the celebration to Columbia Street on Saturday, August 15.

A Stage Full of Pride

Our one and only Justin Abit returned as host, bringing the humour, charisma, and fabulous performances we've loved seeing on the Fridays On Front stage all summer long.

Nimrat The Drag brought Bollywood glamour, colour, and beautiful performances inspired by India to Front Street Mews, while the fierce Wan-Ting Moi stunned us with her unforgettable stage presence and powerhouse vocals.

Scarlett Rosรฉ completed our fabulous drag cast with her signature combination of timeless glamour, sass, sparkle, and plenty of personality.

Then DJ Krista Mac got behind the decks and gave the crowd plenty of reasons to get those dancing shoes moving until it was time to wrap up the night!

Together, they created an evening that celebrated queer talent, self-expression, and the joy of coming together as a fabulous community. โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

Serving All Kinds of Deliciousness

All that dancing called for some serious fuel, and our food trucks understood the assignment!

Festival-goers enjoyed mouthwatering treats from:

Steel & Oak Brewing Co. kept the local beer flowing, while Heartberry Soda offered refreshing non-alcoholic soda pops to sip throughout the evening. ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿซ

Not Your Ordinary Shopping

Beyond the main stage, the Mews was filled with local vendors and businesses for attendees to discover and support.

A special shoutout goes to our Downtown New West BIA business members, Tiger Hair Lounge and Grapevine Tattoo, for joining the celebration!

And Pride Night wasn't just for the grown-ups. New West Family Place returned with family-friendly activities, helping make the evening a welcoming celebration for all ages.

It Takes A Community To Build A Special Place

Behind every Fridays On Front night is an incredible group of people working to transform Front Street Mews into the festival you see each week.

A huge thank-you goes to our Downtown New West BIA team and our hardworking volunteers, who help make the magic happen both behind the scenes and throughout each event.

We're incredibly grateful to our presenting partner Douglas College, the City of New Westminster for its continued support, and our sponsors Port of Vancouver and Key West Ford. Your support helps us continue bringing another incredible summer to our business district!

Most importantly, thank YOU! ๐Ÿ˜

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Front Street Mews, cheered for our performers, hit the dance floor, supported local vendors, grabbed dinner from our food trucks, brought the family, and celebrated Pride alongside us. ๐ŸŒˆ

Seeing Front Street filled with people celebrating love and PRIDE in all its letters made this the perfect way to support the beautifully diverse community that makes Downtown New Westminster a unique district that we are proud to call home! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿงก One Final Friday...

Okay, babes. We knew this moment was coming... ๐Ÿฅน

After five incredible themed nights, there's only ONE Fridays On Front left this season.

Our final celebration will be Indigenous Night, bringing us together one more time on Front Street Mews on Friday, August 21.

And we're not revealing everything just yet. ๐Ÿ‘€

Keep your eyes on our Instagram profile this Wednesday, August 19, when we'll announce the full performance lineup, food trucks, and everything you need to know before joining us for our season finale.

One last Friday. One last summer celebration. Let's make it count. ๐Ÿงกโœจ

See you on the Mews ๐Ÿ’‹
